Diary of an old cheeser

Hi there! Like other blogs, this is my chance to wax lyrical (some might say talk utter cr*p) about a) what's happening in my life b) all of my pet obsessions in particular music, tv, movies, books and other generally connected things, quite often of the retro, old and "cheesy" variety. Hence the title of my blog. Feel free to leave a comment if the mood takes you. There's nothing like a good chinwag about one's favourite topics and besides I love to meet new people! Cheers, Simon

I'm Sowwie!

Well I'm very sorry about the lack of recent posts, ladies and gents. Really.

The fact of the matter is that things have been a tad busy and I just haven't had the time to finish everything off yet! Since getting back from hols there's been work, tutoring a new student in my spare time, going to the gym (admittedly not very much so far), socialising, catching up with other people's blogs and also attending to that rather important business of buying a flat, including sorting out new furniture, woohoo! Yeah, yeah, excuses, excuses. But it's all been time-consuming, honest, guvnors and guvnesses.

Anyway for your delectation, I'm currently writing a marathon post on our Rio visit with accompanying photos which will be posted hopefully soon. Plus some Brazil facts and other general updates. So watch this space for MORE!

Ta!

Thanks for the invite to view your pix, too. Fantastic stuff, and I'm going back for another look.
By the way, we were watching the Dr on Sunday night - the episode where the old geezer tries to turn back time on himself and his lady love is played by ex-corrie kid Maevis....my youngest turned to me at the end of the programme and said that while she had enjoyed it sort of, she felt (at the ripe old age of 10) that the guys writing it seemed to have run out of ideas and were just going thru the motions of a storyline! Howzat?!

Thanks peeps and sorry again for da delaaaay, like. (Erm what kind of accent am I attempting there?!?)

Steve - Yes, I'll erm, get there!

Deemer - Yes, it would seem that way! I noted your posts about moving back to Chicago so I'm sure it's a busy time for you too.

Matty - As for the HOME thing, we're not there yet!! Currently waiting for all the solicitor's stuff to sort itself out - there's a mountain of paperwork and things to sign - bureaucrats,yuk!- and now there's a postal strike here which is slowing things up more!! Grrr!! Still we'll get there in the end, it's just frustrating at times...We just wanna be in our new pad, just like you and B!

Sagi - Glad you liked the pics!

Aaaaah so you and your kiddies were watching "The Lazarus Experiment"! That is a frighteningly grown-up and sophisticated thing for your daughter to say! Could a future career as Dr Who reviewer be beckoning for her?

Furniture buying or blogging. Furniture buying or blogging. Furniture buying or blogging. Furniture buying or blogging.

Hmmm... I know which wins for me, every time.

Looking forward to the Brazil tales and the photos of the new home furnishings!
